Overview:
Join our Racker Team in the critical role of School Psychologist for our Early Childhood Clinical Services Evaluation Team! This contracted position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of a program that respects the integrity and the individuality of each child, promotes learning and enhances social/emotional growth. Review initial referrals and evaluate children to determine strengths and needs, consider intervention and placement needs, and communicate findings to families and school districts.

Wage range: $41-$82/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Review relevant background information from virtual database to determine appropriate assessment measures for each child based on family report, past evaluation dates, suspected abilities, or needs.
  • Establish warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere to families who come to clinic for testing, or collaborate with other community locations when evaluations are conducted off-site.
  • Administer comprehensive but time-efficient cognitive and social-emotional psychological assessments for preschool-aged children, including interpreting results on the spot for family discussions of strengths/weaknesses.
  • Communicate with and collaborate with other evaluation team members and with referring CPSE committee chairs and districts to suggest possible educational considerations or goals.
  • Write informative and clear psychological evaluation reports summarizing and analyzing assessment results, often including compiling results from several evaluators into one document during multidisciplinary evaluations.
  • Maintain and adhere to timelines set by agency and districts. Complete associated paperwork for preschool evaluation cases.
  • Attend eligibility determination meetings rarely; only as requested or necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in a discipline of Psychology related to child development, educational psychology, school psychology, and/or clinical psychology
  • New York State certified School Psychologist or Licensed Psychologist
