Job Description :

The Spindle Rebuild Technician develops economical solutions to technical issues with the company’s complete offering of machine tool products and maintains primary focus on the spindle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The below list reflects the general details necessary to describe the principle and essential functions of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned for the position.

  • Install, repair, and/or rebuild all spindle components, machines, systems, and ancillary equipment
  • Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints
  • Identify and resolve any functional issues that occur with machines used for demonstration
  • Support the field team with on-site installation assistance, technical support, and event preparation for trade show settings
  • Analyze findings to determine the source of mechanical and/or technical issues
  • Recommend repair, replacement, and/or other corrective action for the spindle assembly
  • Monitor product quality and efficiency by verifying alignment and tolerances of moving parts
  • Execute other tasks related to special events or the manufacturing process on an as-needed basis
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.)
  • 2+ year(s) of experience with applying electrical and/or mechanical knowledge to engineering-related concepts
  • 2+ year(s) of experience with repair and/or fabrication of mechanical assemblies/devices
  • 2+ year(s) of experience with close-tolerance machining and related metrology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in maintenance technology, engineering, or other applicable discipline
  • 2+ year(s) of experience with rigging in the manufacturing and/or machine tool industry
  • Intermediate experience with the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Prior application of the appropriate education, experience, and licensing to the JTEKT Machinery/Toyoda product line is highly desired

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The individual is subject to moderate exposure to possible injuries and moderate to high exposure to some fumes and vapors, grease, oil, dust, etc. Must follow all safety requirements carefully. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Work Environment: Work is mostly performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to health or safety hazards that requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
