We provide information and content solutions to a wide range of asset intensive industries, including energy, oil & gas, utilities, pharmaceutical and more.

The Solution Architect will provide technical leadership on our ongoing projects delivering quality solutions along with becoming trusted advisors to our customers ensuring continued process improvement throughout the organization. In addition, we look for all employees to support and contribute to our quality management program to strive towards achieving the best customer experience possible.

Working alongside our existing USA based Solution Architects and Technical Consultants spread between UK and USA, the role will require the day-to-day management of work tasks and commitments to customers.

Overview

The Solution Architect provides project ownership to the wider team, supporting the successful delivery of projects and solutions. Primarily responsible for project delivery, the Solution Architect leads the technical and delivery team, supporting the Project Manager at all times.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Works directly with end-users to define system requirements and oversee project delivery.
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of project documentation, including, but not limited to, System Requirements Specifications, Functional Specifications, System Design Specifications, and Data Migration Plans, as necessary.
  • Designs, configures, codes, and unit tests user interface components and server components according to project specifications.
  • Is responsible for providing to the Test Coordinator or Quality Manager all information, tools, software, and assistance required to install and system test the developed solution.
  • Installs and configures solutions in client environment.
  • Prepares training materials and performs training to end-users and system administrators.
  • Performs data migration of customer legacy data.
  • Reviews and provides input to project documentation, including but not limited to, the Project Plan, Project Schedule, project estimates, and the Issues and Actions Log.
  • Performs code reviews submitted by other consultants to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Keeps the project manager apprised on the status of assigned tasks, all key customer communications, and all issues that arise.
  • Provides technical support to customers, including troubleshooting and defect resolution, and answering functionality questions by users and administrators.
  • Adheres to Kinsmen Group standards and defined methodologies, as defined in standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Assists in quality assurance activities, as necessary.
  • Serves as technical expert and provides technical assistance for all services employees.
  • Assists in the sales process by performing product demonstrations, providing technical guidance and recommendations, and preparing technical estimates.
  • Is able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Consistently completes tasks on schedule or ahead of schedule - and completes tasks within budget.
  • Delivers high-quality projects which contain minimal defects.
  • Manages the overall development effort for a project, and shares project management responsibilities as necessary.

About You

To be successful in this role you must be a highly motivated individual that can demonstrate flexibility and a can-do attitude. You should ensure positive, productive, and proactive relationships with a range of internal and external key stakeholders.

Successful Candidate

  • Recognized by customers and coworkers as a technical expert.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Solution Consultant in the field of Engineering Information Management.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Solution Architect.
  • Solid understanding of current Kinsmen Group technology partners’ products (e.g., Meridian, M-Files, Viewport, Organice etc.).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Structured Query Language and VB Script.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Online and Office 365 including PowerApps experience is preferred.
  • Full project lifecycle experience.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and business analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train others and perform demonstrations.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 30 percent of the time.
  • Must be self-motivated.
