Software Requirements Engineer Job Summary:

BAA is seeking an experienced Controls and Software Engineer who has a mathematical and visual method of addressing problems associated with defining complex control, signal processing and diagnostics for internal combustion engine system requirements. The candidate would create requirements and test plans that would be used to evaluate Simulink model-based designs. The successful candidate will lean upon requirements management tools including PTC Integrity and also potentially MATLAB and Vector toolsets. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and will collaborate well within a team environment.

Software Requirements Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Develop software controls and diagnostics requirements for IC engine controls derived from translated customer requirements and design specifications.

• Produce Software Requirements, Interface Agreements and Software system level and unit level test plans.

• Drive for clarity and accuracy in requirements definition.

• Direct requirements into a structured requirements management tool (Integrity).

• Prepare and deliver technical status presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Conduct cross-functional design reviews and document them.

Software Requirements Engineer Required Skills:

• Experience and proficiency in model-based software development including the use of Simulink.

• Experience writing software requirements and using requirements management tools such as PTC Integrity.

• Understanding of mechanical systems, especially fuel systems is a plus.

• Experience with software configuration management tools.

• Proficient in the use of MS Excel (required), MS Office, MS Word, PowerPoint.

Software Requirements Engineer Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree is required. Electrical engineering or computer science with embedded controls development focus or mechanical engineering with actual software and controls experience.

• 2 years minimum relevant experience
