Security Guard
Otis Library in Norwich, CT has a new opening for a Security Guard. Responsibilities include enforcing library policies and procedures and ensuring the safety of patrons, staff, collections, and equipment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills. The ability to calmly diffuse difficult situations is essential. Bilingual abilities are desirable but not required. This is a 25-hour/week position. The pay rate is $20/hour. Work schedule is Mondays-Fridays, 9am-2pm. Schedule may be subject to change. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in corrections, law enforcement, or military is preferred. A valid State of Connecticut Guard Card is required. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
