Job Summary:
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all areas of the branch and will direct and supervise the staff and day-to-day operations in the assigned branch location, ensuring delivery of quality customer service and achievement of sales or productivity goals. Duties include hiring staff and heading the onboarding and staff training process, create and implement strategies to improve productivity to achieve the financial target of the branch.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: o Hire and train qualified candidates for entry-level roles o Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the branch o Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Area Manager to set reasonable sales and/or retail goals
  • Collaborate with Area Manager to set performance standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational goals and required compliance with internal, local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Monitoring fuel meters and auditing for accuracy
  • Purchase of fuel for routes
  • Coordinating fuel deliveries to the yard
  • Backup driver with all necessary certifications
  • Be present for first fill ups for new clients
  • Be available and on call during working hours
  • Perform site visits for new prospective clients
  • Assure trucks are maintained and meet all regulatory standards
  • Stock inventory of required supplies for fueling activities and spill prevention
  • Fueling trucks prior to shifts when a yard lead is unavailable
  • Recruit and interview new employees and oversee the onboarding process
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff; provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives
  • Identifies training needs and opportunities; develops and implements a plan for meeting those needs
  • Maintain and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, demonstrating excellent customer service and setting an example for other staff
  • Participate in community activities to promote the organization and to build goodwill
  • Collaborate with business manager and sales regarding advertising, marketing, and growth campaigns
  • Assist with start-up, development, and growth of new branches as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in the branch with at least one year as an assistant branch manager highly preferred. CDL with Hazmat Required
  • 2 years of driver management or fleets required
  • 2 years of fuel industry experience preferred
  • Obtaining and maintaining a CDL required
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate
  • Show creative problem-solving
  • Show strong attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time

Work Schedule:

  • Full time in office, Monday – Friday
  • On-call until trucks return to yard at night
  • Occasional weekend work and oversight will be required
  • Emergency backup driver for driver absences/emergencies
