Rate of pay: $18.00+/hr., DOE

Your Role:

  • Maintain meat plant service in accordance with established company standards
  • Perform daily U.S.D.A sanitation requirements
  • Ensure the store’s satisfaction is maximized through inner-department communication, merchandising of products, and daily operating procedures
  • Perform proper down stacking of goods that have arrived for receiving and cross checking against the invoice
  • Check for any damage that might have occurred during shipment
  • Ensure proper trimming techniques are used when products are prepared for sales or back stock
  • Perform proper rotation and dating on each new item so that the rule of “the oldest is being used first’ is consistently implemented
  • Ensure any usable portion of the damaged merchandise is saved and used
  • Work to cutting list provided by the Meat Category Manager, producing the quantity specified on the cutting list
  • Maintain OSHA standards

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months of related experience and/or training; Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to wrap, weigh, label, and price cuts of meat
  • Experience cutting, trimming, and grinding meats such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Fantastic customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also able to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Must be able to work with fork lift and electric pallet jack
