Job Title: Dietary Assistant

Description: Provides assistance as required in all dietary functions as directed and instructed.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to read and write.

2. Ability to follow written and oral orders.

3. Ability to work in close cooperation with other.

4. High degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene.

5. Sense of responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Promotes and maintains a positive attitude.

2. Accepts all assignments as assigned by supervisor.

3. Obtains food and supplies as directed.

4. Performs cleaning duties in kitchen.

5. Performs dishwashing procedures including pots and pans and all other equipment.

6. Sets up meals for next meal.

7. Cleans refrigerator and storerooms as scheduled.

8. Re-Stock storerooms.

9. Prepares snack and nourishments as ordered by Food Service Supervisor or Nursing Staff.

10. Assists in preparation of foods according to menu.

11. Checks therapeutic trays with diet orders before distribution.

12. May perform other duties as directed by Food Service Supervisor.

13. Attends mandatory In-Service meetings regularly.

14. Knowledge of equipment use.

15. Reports any pertinent information to Food Service Supervisor.

16. Complies with established policies and procedures and sanitary conditions.

17. Awareness of location of all fire extinguishers and pull stations.

18. May be requested to assist residents with meal, i.e. cut up food, pour beverages, butter bread, ect.
