Job Description :

**This position is a temporary 8-month co-op assignment from May 2023-December 2023. Only students currently attending college or university will be considered.*

AS A FIRMWARE DEVELOPER ENGINEER, YOU WILL …

  • Participate on a development team using agile methodologies
  • Collaborate with marketing to create SMART firmware requirements based on market needs
  • Create and review designs to achieve requirements
  • Develop and debug firmware code to implement designs
  • Implement, perform, and document unit tests to verify firmware functionality
  • Manage code changes using version control tools
  • Read and understand specifications for electronic components
  • Review and follow relevant project engineering practice and standards documents
  • Assist with other project activities as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Major(s): Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum year in school: Sophomore
  • GPA: 2.5 or above

PREFFERED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Possess understanding of embedded systems
  • Enjoy software development in C or C++
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to participate in a team environment
  • Jira, Jama, and Perforce experience a plus
  • A mechanical background or aptitude is helpful
