3D Artist (Mobile Games)

Job Description:

HypGames is looking for a talented 3D artist to join our fast-growing game studio. We are looking for highly motivated, passionate artists who are interested in making high quality mobile games that are both fun to play and push the limits of the platform in a challenging and rewarding environment. Responsibilities:

● Create environments and hard surface assets for use in high-quality sports mobile games

● Work with the production team, other artists, and engineers to ensure consistency between vision and implementation of assets in the game engine

● Ensure that all aspects of art production are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard

● Understand and follow direction provided by the Art Director or Art Lead

● Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude is important

● Able to work creatively as part of a small group

Requirements:

● Experience creating high-quality and game-resolution assets using Autodesk Maya

● Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for texture creation

● Clear understanding of efficient UV layout for low poly objects

● Good understanding of the lighting tools in Maya (Arnold, Turtle, etc.) for high-resolution rendering and lightmapping as well as vertex baking for use in game

● Experience creating outdoor environments for 3D games is a strong plus

● Knowledge of Substance Painter and/or ZBrush is a plus

● Working knowledge of Unity 3D is preferred

● Passionate and proactive - willing to solve challenging problems

● Sports knowledge and enthusiasm are a plus

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
