Website Designer & Account Specialist

The AAM Group’s Website Designer & Account Specialist serves as the primary contact for the setup and launch of websites for stores on our Aftermarket Websites® platform. When a new store signs up, you will help design and build their website on our platform. This process can include building banners, creating engaging imagery, and customizing the site to reflect the look and feel of their business.

During site development and after handing off the keys, you will continue in a support role for those customers, training them in the use of their website, answering questions, and suggesting ways they can better leverage the platform’s tools to achieve their business goals.

This role also has responsibilities as a general graphic designer for The AAM Group at large, including producing designs and graphic arts internally within our marketing department.

As part of the Aftermarket Websites® team, you will work collaboratively with others to meet AAM’s goals for website sales, customer support, and generating the highest level of customer satisfaction.

We provide services for customers of our wholesale distribution members, which collectively operate nearly 60 warehouses across North America. We reach more than 14,000 resellers of many types, including 4×4 shops, spray-in bedliner shops, camper top shops, speed shops, machine shops and engine builders, fleet upfitters, and many other specialized local automotive shops. Our fastest-growing offering is Aftermarket Websites® (AftermarketWebsites.com): a website-building service just for retailers and installers in the specialty automotive aftermarket. Built BY the industry, FOR the industry, our sites point consumers searching for products to their local brick-and-mortar options (i.e., the shops you’ll be designing websites for). This robust, e-commerce–ready platform lets shop owners upload product information, including pricing, to reach consumers searching for the products they sell. Aftermarket Websites® currently hosts more than 100 websites, and we are adding more every month.

The IDEAL Candidate

You are highly creative, passionate about graphic and Web design, and meticulously detail oriented. An important part of this position involves cultivating a deep understanding of our platform (don’t worry, we’ll teach you!) and pulling the right levers to make the system work for each customer. So the ideal candidate is someone who can work directly and collaboratively with customers (by phone and email) to help them create their perfect website. Creating an awesome website is more art than science, so this person will also enjoy figuring out new ways to solve creative challenges.

Last, the ideal candidate is fun, respectful, kind, and does their job without needing to be micro-managed. We don’t want to hover any more than you want us hovering, but you’ll receive support whenever you need it.

Job Duties

• Work on the creation and release of new websites with customers (collecting resources from them, layout, design, setup, etc.)
• Manage and meet customer expectations with complete site builds
• Ensure projects are completed with a focus on quality and timeliness
• Website training and customer service to help answer support questions or teach customers how to solve their own problems and improve their overall operational knowledge

Skill Requirements:

• Experience in building websites
• Experience in graphic design
• Experience in customer service
• Experience with using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop)
• Good file management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the Web
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS is helpful, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,520.00 per year
