JOB SUMMARY:

Sr. Software Engineer act as technical leaders of IS to users or customers. They provide 3rd level and architectural support in the problem resolution, installation, and/or tuning of user or customer systems and applications. They provide proactive Capacity planning and design support by monitoring system and network resources with tools and monitoring software. Sr. Software Engineers provide the technical support which enables the successful ongoing implementation of business solutions.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Sr. Software Engineer is the premier position for those individuals with previous application and business analysis expertise. The Sr. Software Engineer is recognized as a significant business resource and system expert within the company. The incumbent may have or attained expertise in a specific application or development area. The incumbent may bring with them significant experience from one or more of the Business Applications Systems, Application Services, Web Administration, Database administration or other IT discipline. The incumbent may direct other analysts and participate/lead in the introduction of new applications and technology. The incumbent requires minimal supervision and frequently directs the work of other Analysts, and leads in the support of complex problems. Is a recognized leader among peers and business leadership.
• Independently performs 3rd level and Design/Architectural problem resolution.
• Escalates and notifies management of business impacting problems.
• Tracks all tasks and problem reports in his/her queue and communicates problem solutions and resolution to affected parties as appropriate.
• Determines business-oriented solutions to reported problems, identifying pros and cons of each solution.
• Determines problem resolutions and clearly documents resolutions on problem reports.
• Leads in the resolution of complex problems and clearly documents resolutions on problem reports.
• Uses tools to proactively monitor the applications and systems to identify problems as soon as possible.
• Manages complex projects.
• Manages critical situations.
• May be designated as a application specialist in the company.
• May be the business system interface between the development organization and the user to aid in problem resolution.
• Participates in projects as a Subject Matter Expert.
• Leads small to medium projects as a Project Manager.
• Influences technical management in the area of application planning, system design, and product selection.
• Participates in the evaluation of new application and product requirements and specifications.
• Advises management regarding Analyst staffing and training needs.
• Identify and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Operate as a team player and help to unify the team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology preferred.
• 12+ year experience in business analysis or application development.
• Expert knowledge of .NET, C# and Web Development Languages
• Knowledge of personal computers and related software, telecommunication and computer system terminology, telephone systems and voice mail.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the general functional capabilities of all deployed applications and technology.
• Demonstrated ability SME in three or more application/business disciplines or related systems disciplines (such as Business Process, Application Development, DB Management, application performance, etc.).
• Familiar with alternative solutions and systems to those deployed.
• Operate within the corporate policy guidelines and business practices.
• Results oriented and demonstrated strong sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication skills, written/verbal with internal and external contacts.
• Proven ability to be organized, detailed, multi-tasker, critical thinker, accurate, thorough and a problem-solver.
• Ability to adapt to change in the workplace or assignment of duties.
