What you will do:
· The Sr. Financial Analyst works directly with the Manager, Operations Finance and Plant Management to ensure the financial transactions and reporting of the manufacturing and distribution functions are accurate. This position will be accountable for operations accounting responsibilities including (and not limited to) performing manufacturing month-end close responsibilities, ensuring standard product costing across the company is accurate, understanding variances resulting from purchase price and manufacturing differences to standard and keeping them to a minimum, and providing support and guidance to the Operations Teams that are company-wide to meet and exceed operational KPI targets.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Perform accounting, month-end journal entries, month-end reporting and analysis, and balance sheet account recs for the manufacturing, distribution, and inventory management-related functions.
· Support annual standard cost rolls, standard labor and overhead rate setting, and standard Bill of Materials and Routings reviews for all locations’ inventory items.
· Research and take action to implement solutions to resolve purchase price and manufacturing variances to standard costs.
· Partner with the Manager, Operations Finance and Plant Manager to run the financial responsibilities of all physical inventory processes at each inventory location across the company.
· Support E&O Inventory Reporting and analysis and supply supplemental reporting to reduce and maintain minimal levels of excess and obsolete inventory across the company.
· Prepare annual audit workpapers related to inventory, cost of goods sold, manufacturing costs and absorption.
· Support the manufacturing and distribution budget preparation process; provide plant and DC personnel with appropriate financial reports, data & analysis to prepare their annual budgets.
· Prepare reports required to ensure compliance with company’s feed and seed licensing and reporting regulatory requirements.
· Complete special projects as requested by management.
· Occasional travel to other company locations may be required
Additional qualifications that will help you be successful in this role:
· 4-year degree required(preferrable in Finance or Accounting)
· 5+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Finance preferred
· Cost Accounting Experience is a must
· Possesses an understanding of financial statements and relationships amongst income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
· Strong PC skills and proficiency with various applications: MS Excel, Planful (or similar financial consolidation programs), and SAP
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Self-motivated in achieving goals and completing tasks
· Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines
· Demonstrated ability to foster and develop relationships that partner to drive growth
· Action orientation and assertive style
· Ability to be objective is required
