Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher educates students and administers policies and procedures relating to all phases of education in accordance with current state and federal Special Education standards. In addition, the Teacher is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising individualized direct care, educational group services, and activities for each assigned student or group. This position defines and implements education and behavior goals as a member of the academic team. As an active member of the team, this position provides continuously individualized student care, observation, interaction, documentation, and role modeling to students while under the direct supervision of the School Supervisor. Responsible for personal and Corporate Service Excellence Standards.
Northwest School of Innovative Learning, is a behavioral, therapeutic and academic learning program designed for students from kindergarten through high school who are unable to successfully navigate traditional school settings. We offer a comprehensive and therapeutic program that helps meet the academic, special education, and behavioral health needs of students from school districts throughout the Puget Sound region. A full academic curriculum is individually tailored, along with therapeutic treatment needs.

JOB REQUIREMENT:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in education or related field. Masters Degree preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years as an instructor in a Special Education classroom, preferred.
License: Valid teaching credential required.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and First Aid certification. Successful completion of Handle With Care (HWC) and verbal de-escalation training. Successful completion of orientation training. May be required to work flexible hours. May require some travel.
