Internship Requirements:
- Must have completed at least 3 years of undergraduate degree
- Must be based in the U.S. for duration of internship, preferably within proximity to a Roofstock office (Oakland or Dallas)
- Ability no less than 8 hour work days (across five day work week)
What You Will Do:
- Work closely with our talented Product, Design, and Engineering teams to design, build, and ship user-facing products
- As a software engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology to develop solutions to some of our most challenging problems
- Design, code, test, and document new or existing software
- Evaluate and improve the performance, durability, scalability, and security of existing applications
- Partner with business partners to understand business needs
What You Will Bring With You:
- Proficient in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Node.js Ruby, or something similar) Backed by a strong understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals, like data structures and algorithms
- Passionate about learning and continuous improvement
- Understanding and knowledge of object-oriented code development
- Frontend experience in WebApps, JavaScript, AngularJS, or React
- Experience consuming, producing, and designing RESTful web services is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Computer Science or related degree required
Compensation Range:
- The expected base salary for this position ranges from $28 to $32. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, education/training, business needs, market demands, and geographical location.
