Job Description
Ensure that every guest at ʻĀina Kaua‘i has an outstanding 5-star experience from the moment of initial inquiry/reservation through arrival and conclusion of meal service.
Requirements
We are striving to create a positive, healthy, and enjoyable work environment. To that end, we’re looking for team members with Aloha Spirit, strong values, and good character who are passionate about locally produced food and have an interest in Japanese cuisine.
Candidates must possess legal authorization to work in the United States, have proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, and speaking), and be able to stand for long periods of time.
What’s most important to us is attitude and conscientiousness. This includes the ability to consistently arrive at work and perform required duties, on time, with concern for quality and attention to detail.
An ideal candidate has at least 3 years food and beverage serving and/or related work in a high end establishment and excellent knowledge of Japanese food, food preparation, and sake. Possession of a Blue Card or ability to obtain one would also be helpful.
Job Functions
1. Clean front of house before service including tables, plates, and glassware.
2. Set tables for service including utensils, napkins, and glassware.
3. Ensure back of house is set up for drink service.
4. Welcome and seat guests upon arrival.
5. Educate guests on the menu, food items, and preparation methods.
6. Take orders from guests.
7. Serve food and drinks to guests. Will be assisted by chef and food runner.
8. Ensure that front of house operations are compliant with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations including those pertaining to health, safety, and alcohol consumption.
9. Respond to calls and return voicemails from guests during prescribed calling hours.
