Our services include special education, vocational training, supported employment, structured day programs, group home and apartment programs both on-campus and in the community, short-term behavioral stabilization services for children, and in-home and outpatient rehabilitation services.

We are currently looking for a School Social Worker for our Bancroft School in Mt. Laurel, NJ!
Responsibilities:
  • Interacts with Education staff, residential program management, family members, etc., to ensure all ISP/IEP materials are received on a timely basis from appropriate parties and are available to implement and monitor the plans for each individual student
  • On an ongoing basis and in conjunction with Education management, education faculty, clinical-specific staff, and family members, monitors existing plans to ensure that stated educational goals and objectives are appropriate, achievable, and continue to meet the needs of individual students;
  • Actively participates in and recommends appropriate modifications to the existing education plans to better address and document the educational and (if applicable) residential goals and objectives for each student;
  • Acts as liaison between the Education program and students, family members, funding sources, Admissions Department (if applicable), and future discharge sites to facilitate an efficient admission and discharge process. Interacts on a regular basis with school districts, N.J. Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P), other state agencies, etc., regarding various aspects of program participation; e.g., prepares correspondence, completes required forms, etc., performs necessary follow-up activities, etc.
  • Dependent upon program supported, may provide social work counseling to students to enhance, protect, and/or restore capacity for coping with the social environment and to aid families in fostering studentsgrowth and stability within the applicable program environment;
  • Conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments to acquire an overview of individual person served, determine how to best meet persons’ needs, and to support individual success in the Program; e.g., family composition and functioning, social/ethnic/religious/cultural influences, history and status of behavioral concerns, medical/social/psychiatric/education/job history, communication abilities, sexual orientation, cognitive status, legal issues, environmental/financial/community supports, strengths and barriers to treatment, initial discharge plan
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work with a minimum of two years of related work experience preferred
  • Current N.J. School Social Worker Certificate required. Licensure (NJLSW) preferred
  • Prior experience working with developmentally-disabled individuals preferred
