OVERVIEW

As a Salesforce Marketing Engineer, you will be an integral member of our team. You will use your experiences, expertise and passion for optimization to implement and support our Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment across a complex ecosystem. A successful engineer in this position will take a hands-on approach to solving problems, demonstrate technical depth, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess a superb communication style. You will have expertise in integrating ERP, Warehouse Management and Salesforce systems; and demonstrate a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions by staying up to date with emerging trends and best practices. You will work closely with Marketing, Customer Service and Technology teams to understand business objectives/requirements to ensure the delivery of business value and customer engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your talents, skills and experiences will be used as building blocks as you:

  • Lead technical implementation and support of Salesforce Marketing solutions in support of the iMedia Brands’ priorities using cross-functional collaboration to drive the customer experience
  • Using a hands-on approach to build and support reliable, resilient and scalable Salesforce Marketing capabilities, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Interaction Studio and other business critical capabilities
  • Design, build and implement solutions that drive Salesforce integrations and connected data opportunities
  • Lead integration builds with internal and external technology partners
  • Maintain high quality solutions with unit and integration tests
  • Partner with product owners, business leaders and technology teams to deliver value-added solutions
  • Create and help maintain shared technical documentation
  • Define data validation, cleansing and deduplication rules and processes
  • Champion for innovative technologies to enhance our customer experience
  • Challenge the status quo as a change leader by bringing teams together, focusing on shared goals
  • Ensure all software meets or exceeds quality standards, framework guidelines, design patterns and security standards
  • Stay up to date on Salesforce product roadmaps to inform partner teams of overall opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Salesforce technical or development experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience with consuming and interacting with RESTful/SOAP web services
  • Database experience, including knowledge of SQL, and relational database concepts and models
  • Ability to read and author server-side SaaS code (server-side JavaScript, Apex, etc.)
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, ETL, and structured and unstructured data
  • Experience in Python or other programming language(s)
  • Adept at working with cross-functional teams (i.e., Brand, Marketing, Privacy, and Legal) and managing dependencies tied to technical product roadmaps
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience with test-driven automation and software test automation
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce Marketing and suite of capabilities/products
  • High level of curiosity in understanding the underlying business and the problem we want to solve using technology
  • Ability to function in the role as a scrum master/project/program manager when required
