The Safety and Security Supervisor will support the management of safety and security programs for nGROUP facility in Franklin IN. The position will support the EHS Manager to ensure all safety and security program meet the state and Federal OSHA requirements. This position will support new hire training along with annual training. This position will require you to be onsite.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures.
· Coordinates the safety and security programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
· Evaluates the effectiveness of safety and security programs.
· Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
· Evaluate and review asset protection policies, practices, and guidelines; environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
· Recognizes and investigates security breaches, thefts, and vandalism and reports findings to facility management.
· Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
· Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
· Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
· Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to conduct training.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management; Industrial Hygiene; Environmental Science, Chemical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
At least 2 years' experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety within Supply Chain, Retail, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
· Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
· Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
