Reports to: Associate Director Position

Type: Fulltime, Exempt, 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary:

Mercy Care for the Adirondacks is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. Its mission is to enhance in every dimension the fullness of life of elders living in their community. To learn more about Mercy Care for the Adirondacks, please visit our website at www.adkmercy.org.

The Project Manager is a newly-created, key position to serve the broad needs of Mercy Care’s programs and operations in collaboration with colleagues. She/he/they will help advance Mercy Care’s Development Program and Age-friendly Communities Initiative, which includes Friendship Volunteer, Parish Nurse, Caregiver Friend Programs, a Community Empowerment Program, and an Age-friendly Education Network Program.

The Project Manager will be a compassionate, creative, computer-savvy, detail-oriented individual who can prioritize and manage their time effectively and function as a trusted, supportive, and respectful member of the whole Mercy Care Team. In addition, the incumbent will be resourceful, an imaginative thinker, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, while simultaneously managing myriad details.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set goals and objectives to conduct Constant Contact messaging and digital campaigns; manage and maintain Mercy Care’s Facebook account.
  • Produce weekly website visitor trend reports; develop strategies to increase website use.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating Fund Development and outreach meetings and events.
  • Working with the Executive Director, develop Donor stewardship and cultivation strategies, work plans, and schedules.
  • Assist with the organization’s grant application and reporting requirements.
  • Research new private foundations and individual major donor prospects.
  • Coordinate meeting and training site venues, technology needs, logistics, and Team participation in training and education events.
  • Develop PowerPoint, training, and public presentations.
  • Assist with writing, designing, and distributing quarterly Volunteer Newsletter.
  • Analyze trends, develop reports, and make recommendations to further design merciful, efficient, and user-friendly tools related to direct service programs.
  • Take and transcribe program meeting notes.
  • Coordinate preparations for program committee meetings.

Other:

  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Associate Director or Executive Director

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of constituencies, including Sisters of Mercy, volunteers, board members, clergy, local organizations, community leaders, and health and aging services professionals and organizations. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with staff and volunteers; communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to work independently and creatively; understanding of aging issues; familiarity with the Adirondack region of New York State or the unique needs of elders living in rural areas.

Qualifications:

  • Respects the values and charism of the Sisters of Mercy.
  • College Degree or commensurate experience required.
  • Possesses a caring and compassionate approach to those in need.
  • Proficient in computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Suite, and experience using online database/software programs.
  • Experience and knowledge managing Social Media accounts, Constant Contact, and/or other digital or email marketing programs preferred.
  • Grant writing, reporting, and/or research experience preferred.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • A willingness to travel within Essex and Franklin Counties, to other North Country communities, and occasionally beyond for professional development or other purposes, as requested; may include overnight travel rarely but occasionally.
  • Ability to work remotely – internet access.
  • Access to a vehicle and a driver’s license.
  • Ability to occasionally, but rarely, work beyond normal weekday Monday - Friday daytime hours.
  • Knowledge of the Adirondacks Region in New York State or other rural areas.

  • Mercy Care’s leased office space is located in St. Margaret’s Convent in a long-term care skilled nursing facility in Lake Placid, NY.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to use a computer. Must be able to drive a vehicle. Must be able to use a telephone and participate in meetings using Zoom or other meeting technology. Job Hazards: Stress level is moderately high. Possible exposure to communicable diseases from residents and staff in the building where Mercy Care’s leased office space is located. All Mercy Care staff are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Salary & Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is provided. Salary Range is $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience.
