The District is recruiting for a Programmer/Analyst I/II to fill the current vacancy assigned to the Information Technology Services department located in Fresno, California. The eligible list established as a result of this recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies. The Position: The selected candidate will work with their team and other departments in order to design and program custom software applications; install and maintain client/server database servers; conduct feasibility studies; plan and develop test data to validate new or modified programs; develop program logic and processing steps; code programs in appropriate languages using structured programming techniques; and may conduct user training. The District uses Microsoft Windows server and client operating system software, Microsoft SQL database server software, and Microsoft .NET (VB.Net, C# and ASP.Net) technologies. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and experience in Windows-and Web based, object-oriented application programming, system design & development, client/server database architecture, business systems analysis, and user training.
Knowledge of client-side scripting and Microsoft SQL Server design and programming is highly desirable. Mobile development Cross-platform (IOS, ANDROID) experience (Xamarin preferred) Ionic, or a similar technology is also highly desirable.
Qualifications:Level I: Requires applicants who possess a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in information systems, computer science, or a closely related discipline. Experience in programming, analysis, design and implementation of application development may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two (2) years.
Other Requirements: Must possess a valid California Driver License and meet the automobile insurability requirements of the District. Must be able to attend work on a daily basis as scheduled.
