Center Director – Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic hands-on Center Director to manage our location in Sunnyvale, CA. Primary Responsibilities

A Center Director is responsible for managing and operating the entire location. Some job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

· Hire and manage the teaching staff.

· Manage with high quality day-to-day operations of the center, ensuring compliance as per California Childcare Licensing Guidelines and as mandated by Safari Kid Corporate.

· Maintain a safe and nurturing environment to deliver high-quality programs and curriculum as provided by the Corporate Team.

· Strive for excellence and provide constructive feedback to the Curriculum Development Team to maintain distinction in the early childhood development space.

· Lead and be a positive role model to teaching staff to maintain and enhance the center’s reputation as a leading preschool known for nurturing, loving, and quality care for children.

· Work closely with owners in strategizing marketing campaigns and managing parent inquiries for enrollment to maximize revenue potential of the center. Collaboration and communication in this area is key.

· Manage community and parent relations through events and timely, high-quality communication.

· Ensure all center systems including parent portals and CRM are well-managed and current.

· Most importantly, create a culture of being a safe and loving school not only for children but for teachers and staff as well. “Safari Kid” should always be synonymous with love and care.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Child Development Director or Site Supervisor Permit as per California state licensing requirements
• Associate degree in early childhood education or equivalent major (bachelor’s degree preferred) with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Minimum 24 ECE units in Early Childhood Education and 3 infant-toddler units, post-secondary units OR Child Development PLUS 3 semester units of Administration PLUS minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a supervised group childcare center
• Minimum 3 years (5 years preferred) of management/leadership experience managing a preschool/childcare center
• Minimum 5 years early childhood education experience
• Meets education criteria required by state
• Organization and time management skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and childcare management software
• Pass background check and proof of immunization & health criteria

Additional Requirements:

• Strong leadership, customer service, and computer skills
• Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience managing budgets in a preschool (preferred)

Compensation: Base + Benefits + Bonus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
