Hillenbrand is looking for a Payroll Sr. Manager to join our team in Batesville, Indiana. As a Payroll Sr. Manager you will be responsible for supervising North American payroll processing operations in an outsourced managed service model to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing and tax payments are provided to all employees. Responsible for maintaining high quality internal controls to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and thorough internal recordkeeping. Responsible for identifying improvement initiatives and recommendations for change by working in collaborative and cross-functional partnerships.

What you’ll do:
· Direct and manage the payroll department in a multi-state environment with unions and multiple entities using an outsourced managed services payroll provider.
· Ensures accurate and timely data submission to payroll vendor.
· Collaborate cross functionally on all payroll and time & attendance procedures and education to ensure compliance with company policies, unions and applicable regulations (e.g. state / federal labor standards, state / international data privacy).
· Maintain internal controls to ensure payroll tax payments comply with applicable federal, state and local tax laws. Perform Payroll and Employment Tax reconciliations.
· Ensure disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
· Work with external and internal auditors related to payroll and time & attendance, ensuring that the function is adhering to company and legal standards.
· Participate in regular production planning, metrics review, analytics and action planning with payroll vendor to ensure that service levels are realized.
· Develop and maintain strong, effective working relationships and partnerships with business partners, other human resources areas, and vendors to ensure Payroll and Time & Attendance is meeting the needs of the business and employees.
· Identify business issues related to payroll and/or time & attendance processes and services, work with vendor and management to resolve.
· Ensure all processes are documented and relevant.
· Other duties may be assigned.

Basic Requirements:
