We are a vibrant and growing Ophthalmology practice looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for recording all deposit entries in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. Applicant should be capable of detailed and accurate work and experienced in QuickBooks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Process invoices for payment; print and mail accounts payable checks
• Review all invoices for discount opportunities, appropriate documentation, and approval prior to payment
• Ensure credit is received for outstanding memos
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording deposits and other accounts payable data in QuickBooks
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Maintain accounts payable files and records
• Generate monthly reports detailing accounts payables status
• Understand expense accounts
• Continue to improve the payment process
• Maintain a good rapport with our vendors
• Provide administrative and clerical support to the company
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
• Previous accounts payable experience required, preferably within a medical or small business setting
• References required
