Dicalite is a company that uses naturally occurring minerals to improve products used for filtration of liquids such as wine, beer, and swimming pool water, for use in building products such as wallboard, ceiling tile, and joint compound, and for use in creating potting soils and hydroponic growing media for plant growth. Dicalite’s operating footprint includes 16 facilities across North America and Europe. Operating through a fully integrated network of five mines and twelve refining, processing, and packaging facilities, the company has a unique multi-mineral platform that includes perlite, vermiculite, and diatomaceous earth. Dicalite’s core business is selling wholesale products to blue chip customers such as Home Depot, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Cargill, DuPont, Leslie’s Pool Supplies, numerous California wineries, 3M, and Nestle Purina, among others. In 2021, Dicalite launched a direct-to-consumer line of gardening products. These products are marketed under the Harvest Hero brand name (www.HarvestHero.com).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be directing, supervising, and troubleshooting routine issues that occur at the facility. Ensuring high standards for safety, housekeeping, productivity, and general maintenance. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating tasks for the day, creating schedules for workers, and overseeing the quality of the site. Communication with superiors daily.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage team, coordinate employee activities.
• Control product & production processes.
• Assist in all items associated with the quality system.
• Continuous improvements to the production program.
• Maintain acceptable customer quality standards; maintain the quality of production; take necessary corrective action to improve.
• Maintains high standards for housekeeping, safety, and general maintenance.
• Monitor employee attendance, assist in maintaining attendance records.
• Maintain daily timekeeping and production records
• Perform/Assist in training for both operations and safety
• Provide support and services to Plant Manager.
• Train, schedule and supervise work of production personnel.
• Use production data to improve efficiencies in operational best practices and preventative maintenance
• Ensure safety, health & hygiene.
• Plan, oversee and schedule production operations.
• Control & report product quality parameters.
• Control raw material stock levels
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform controlman and millman positions as required.
• Knowledge of MSHA safety guidelines
• Good organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Must have the ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Must have excellent attendance record.
• Must be able to lead projects
• Dependable, self-motivated, disciplined, and dynamic leader
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Inquisitive, problem solving and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDIDITIONS:

• Indoor and outdoor environments, moderate to loud noise levels.
• Standing for long periods on concrete or other hard surfaces.
• Work performed primarily in manufacturing and processing site.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
• Frequent use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, manipulating tools/objects.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. regularly and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
