JOB TITLE: Marketing & Social Media Associate

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to CEO

Position Overview: The Marketing & Social Media Associate will work closely with the CEO and all staff to share how JFS is transforming the lives of countless community members each year. We are a growing agency committed to expanding our reach to provide the highest quality mental health and social and human services to the Greater Harrisburg community. We do so much-- and we need a talented and creative story teller to help describe our impact and transformational services. We help children find their forever families; teens with depression heal through our mental health counseling; refugees build new lives in our community; homebound seniors receive fresh nutritious meals delivered to their homes; people in need accessing our food pantry and emergency financial assistance….and the list goes on.

We are seeking a tech-savvy and creative go-getter and fellow storyteller who is committed to making the world a better place and enjoys connecting with others through technical and traditional media. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent judgment and is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a great multi-tasker.

This position is based in Harrisburg and has a hybrid schedule, with at least 25% of time in the office.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Marketing/Advertising

• Create and maintain a multi-faceted marketing plan to meet our organization’s goals
• Help define and promote JFS brand and activities through all print and social media outlets
• Increase public awareness of our programs and services and attendance at our events
• Coordinate mass mailings and emails to share agency successes and challenges information.
• Develop print/ radio and social media ads/ flyers and marketing materials to better segment our messaging to different target populations
• Develop innovative channels of communication and promotion to expand our reach

Website Maintenance

• Update our website on a regular basis including updating content, layout, and functionality of the web site and pages.
• Generate content for the website.

Publishing/social media

• Serve as the writer and chief content creator for all materials and platforms, including emails, website, newsletters, press releases, annual reports, flyers, pamphlets, brochures, etc.
• Develop advertising for programs, services, and events through online, social media, and traditional channels.
• Integrating social media and traditional advertising platforms to utilize each tool effectively.
• Perform regular cost/benefit analysis related to the success of advertising and promotions and make recommendations for improvements and continued cost savings.
• Utilize appropriate social media platforms to target specific audiences by:
• Gathering photos and content appropriate for social media promotions and posts
• Post online to various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, etc.
• Analyzing the reach and effectiveness and respond of social media to maximize interactions with the public in a timely manner.

• Other responsibilities, as required.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of proven experience in organic social and driving social and marketing strategy
• Expert knowledge of social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and experience with social listening platforms
• Experience and technical expertise to manage website (WordPress) and grow social content and communities for JFS, pulling social analytics, and working with influencers and brand partners as part of an overall social strategy
• Outstanding storytelling skills, both in written and verbal communication
• Enthusiasm for JFS’s passion to help others achieve health and wellbeing
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
