Job Description :
Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions:
- Allen Correctional – Lima
- Dayton Correctional – Dayton
- Lebanon Correctional – Lebanon
- Warren Correctional – Lebanon
- Trumbull Correctional – Leavittsburg
- Ohio State Penitentiary – Youngstown
- Franklin Medical Center – Columbus
- Correctional Reception Center – Columbus
- Pickaway Correctional – Columbus (Orient)
- Southeastern Correctional – Lancaster
- Southern Ohio Correctional Facility – Lucasville
- Ross Correctional – Chillicothe
- Ohio Reformatory for Women – Marysville
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in management, business, marketing, or related field required. Or a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area is required
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
- A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
- Instructors must be available to teach in a classroom environment prior to teaching online
