Infrastructure Technician

Panolam Surface Systems is a leading North American manufacturer of decorative surfaces, with facilities located throughout the US and in Canada. Panolam manufactures high-pressure decorative laminates, thermofused melamine panels and a variety of specialty laminates for decorative as well as industrial applications.

We are currently seeking candidates to provide Level 1 and 2 support for our companywide infrastructure, and as such must have the ability to support:

Hardware:

• The ability and skills to support all the servers and work stations both in the Plant and the front office, across many hardware platforms: HP, Lenovo, Apple, EMC, Barracuda, Cisco
• PC support skills for both laptop and desktop environments

Software:

• Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Win10, Server2012, and Server 2016 as well as some Active Directory experience)
• VMware – 6.0 to 7.0 experience in setting up and managing virtual environments.
• The Corporate ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is PeopleSoft running at the corporate datacenter in Shelton CT; while the Infrastructure Team does not directly support the application, a working knowledge of the PeopleSoft software is a great plus.
• Knowledge in High Jump and/or Preactor would be a great plus.

Manufacturing Equipment Support:

• Work with vendors and Plant engineers to support the work stations running the manufacturing equipment and PLC support.

Network:

• Support of the Plant LAN using a mix of both old and new hardware is a large part of this job. The LAN communicates with the 12 other facilities and corporate headquarters over a SDWAN network using a mix of both fiber and copper. WAN experience a plus. Network hardware experience –Cisco routers and switches, Velocloud edge devices.
• Knowledge of VOIP cloud based phone systems would be a great plus.
• While a CNE is not required it would be considered a plus as would a strong Wireless background.
• This candidate will be part of a team that has members based at our Auburn Plant, Huntsville, Ontario Plant, as well as our Corporate Headquarters in Shelton, Connecticut, and as such, communications skills and teaming skills will be very important. While candidates must be self-starters and able to work independently, there will be technical support available, and cooperation in working as a team member is important. This position will be based in the Auburn, ME manufacturing plant and limited travel will be required as necessary.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
