Qualification prerequisites:

  • 3 plus years of customer service experience.

  • Strong ability to multi-task, handle multiple insurance carrier websites.
  • Fast computer skills with typing and proper grammar, using programs like excel, word, and multiple web browsers/tabs open to handle.
  • Experience with insurance agency management systems is a plus.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Responsible for onboarding new clients and servicing their policies.
  • Regular customer service (personal and commercial lines), endorsement quoting/processing, billing requests/questions, certificate requests, claims questions (we typically try to point the insured in the right direction as far as if a claim is covered, but ultimately have them report the claim directly to their carrier and deal with that carrier’s claims department).
  • Quoting (including new and renewal business, endorsements, etc) along with preparing and/or sending applications, binding policies, setting up the new policy in our agency management system, etc. New business quoting will mainly involve assisting the other brokers but you will most likely take calls from people wanting a quote and you’d want to take the information over the phone (trying to get all pertinent underwriting information up front initially). In some cases, you will handle a new business sale from start to finish.
  • E&S/wholesale quoting, placement, application preparation, signature collection, finance agreement & billing work, general assistance, etc.
  • Handle audit balance discrepancies by researching what happened, contacting the insured with a detailed explanation, and developing a resolution to fix the problem moving forward.
  • Commission statement preparation and payment to sales reps.
  • New & renewal insurance license and CE management.
  • Marketing assistance- Send messages thru LinkedIn, social media posts, organize sales lists and send emails/make calls, assist with other marketing efforts like mailers (mortgage broker postcards), etc.
  • Exhibit strong problem resolution techniques and recommend changes to staff and management.
  • Documentation of task notes within agency management system.
