Description

The Human Resources Generalist will provide a full range of human resources (HR) duties, to include employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, orientation and training; development of HR policies, programs and practices; compliance with federal and state requirements; employee performance evaluation program; salary and benefits administration. Recruiter responsibilities include supporting diversity objectives and administering the candidate selection process to recruit, screen, interview, hire, and complete any required facility credentialing or security clearance requirements necessary for employment.

Major Duties:

  • Assist with full range of human resources duties and responsibilities including employee relations, onboarding, orientation and training; development of HR policies, programs and practices; compliance with federal and state requirements; employee performance evaluation program; salary and benefits administration.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This will include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications, administer new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance. Stay abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manage the recruitment process for job openings by recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for each opening.
  • Manage the recruitment process, discover new candidate resources and make recommendations to management to expand the available candidate.
  • Correspond with applicants regarding their status for employment consideration.
  • Participate in job fairs, conferences, and other networking events to support recruiting initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to hiring managers on policies, process and regulatory issues.
  • Works with Chief Financial Officer and executive team to provide requested information to support of contract proposals, projects or other internal or external requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal clients, candidates and employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of HR experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, time management and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Strong understanding of external resources; job boards/databases, mining the web, social media, email marketing and cold calling.
  • Displays integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/talent management systems, Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with preference for candidates with Paylocity HRIS experience.
  • Some travel may occasionally be required.

Ability to maintain high level of privacy and confidentiality of individuals and families.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Interaction with staff and clients.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
