This leader will drive all things people at Thompson: culture, leadership development, talent, and compliance. Job Responsibilities

The Head of People Operations will be responsible for the administration, coordination and evaluation of our people operations functions including compliance, talent acquisition, leadership development and culture. This future-thinking leader must lead from a place of "people first"-not traditional HR.

Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Leader of high-functioning People Operations Team consisting of HR Generalist and Talent Acquisition Team members.
  • Shape talent acquisition philosophy and career pathing plans
  • Responsible for organization's learning and development initiatives in partnership with operations leadership
  • Oversight of the daily administration of People Operation services, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, new hire procedures and functions; employee orientation, promotions, transfers, affirmative action/EEO compliance, performance evaluation, maintenance of job descriptions, employment documentation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the company.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of benefits selections, annual performance reviews, and other projects as deemed by the ELT/CSO
  • Partner with the C-suite Leadership Team in utilizing and developing tools and strategies to improve individual, team and organizational performance
  • Leverage data to make informed decisions and advise Leadership of workforce trends and engagement
  • Work with cross-functional departments to steward culture, set strategic objectives/KPIs of the People Operations functions and maximize agency investment in people resources
  • Manage vendor selection and relationships
  • Serve as in-house SME to Senior & Executive Leadership on risk mitigation in ER issues
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures company’s compliance.
  • Communicates changes in company personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience in people operations (HR, talent acquisition, etc)
  • Minimum of 5 years of budget stewardship experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience with at least 4 direct reports
  • Able to articulate difference between "people-first" vs. "HR" style leadership
  • PHR Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent written, verbal and oral skills

Preferred skills:
  • Experience in organizations with at least 300 employees
  • Experience in growing organizations
  • SHRM Certification
  • DEI
