Quality Control Manager - Full Time On Site

Location: Webbers Falls Lock and Dam in Gore, Oklahoma

Position Summary:

DP Construction is actively seeking a qualified Quality Control Manager who will implement a contractor project quality control program to ensure contractor and subcontractor quality control requirements are met for the project. The project QC Manager (QCM) is required to attend QC Plan Meetings, the Coordination Meeting, conduct the QC preparatory meetings and perform the three phases of control. Will perform submittal review and approval, ensure testing is performed, and provide QC certifications and documentation required in this Contract. The QC Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the three phases of control and documentation performed by the QC Specialists, testing laboratory personnel and reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of project quality, and construction activities to meet the project plans & specifications.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract plans specifications.
  • Ensures project submittals are developed accurately and submitted on time in a manner to minimize rejected submittals, and actively pursue revise and resubmit issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains client liaison and communication for project QC activities.
  • Ensure the implementation of contract documents and plans, actively promoting and supporting the quality control program at project sites.
  • Ensure that appropriate and required testing programs are implemented at project sites. This includes monitoring, reviewing, evaluating, and documenting results, and report generation.
  • Provide management and leadership of subcontractors and project teams in support of project quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in the following positions: Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Construction Manager on similar size and type of construction contracts.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience as a project QC Manager.
  • Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
  • USACE/NAVFAC CQM Certification [or ability to get this certification shortly after hire].
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certificate
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training Certificate
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed.
  • Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
  • Working at elevated heights.
  • Drug free and able to pass a preemployment drug test.
