Job Summary

This position will support the current Asset Data Collection implementation. The GIS Team Member will support the design, development, and implementation of the Asset Data Collection project across numerous workstreams. Scope includes digital forms in the new application Mirata, new mapviewer applications through Esri Explorer and digital as-builts as a result of field collection through a new Esri FieldMaps application. All applications are being deployed with new supporting hardware such as Windows Toughbooks, Android smart phones/tablets and high accuracy GNSS devices all of which the team member will help test in advance of deployment.

The position will serve as the liaison between end users of UGI’s legacy systems and information technology staff responsible for enhancements or development. In addition, daily interaction and working side-by-side with project consultants assigned to the project to achieve weekly, monthly, and total project deliverables. The Functional Team Member works with other team members to plan, document scenarios, and conduct unit and integration tests and do walk throughs for various stakeholders. In addition to walkthroughs for testing, this position will support sharing the technology with stakeholders from the field to enhance the acceptance of the technology upon implementation. The Functional Team Member is also responsible to assist in producing training material, supporting end-user training and post-implementation support.

This position will hold similar responsibilities on the future GIS implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare for and conduct testing of the new applications to ensure all project requirements are met. This includes tasks such as preparation of testing scenarios, step by step test scripts, performing unit tests and end to end integration tests. Document test results and retest any objects fixed by the development team.
• Serve as liaison between end users of UGI’s Legacy System and the UNITE project team. Coordinate communications with super users and subject matter experts, who are not part of the team to reach required decisions and support end user adoption.
• Support development and review of end user training material. Assist in preparing trainers to conduct in person trainings and serve as key members of the post-implementation support during the Hypercare period.
• Attend all project meetings and training classes on an as required basis. Support the Team Lead for both UGI and assigned project consultant.
• Perform other duties as required by project management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience in Esri mapping applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).
• The ability to think creatively and work in a team project atmosphere.
• Cross team functionality and communication; the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing with a demonstrated skill in building interdepartmental relationships.
• Applied background and knowledge of UGI’s operations, engineering, GIS, and/or marketing organization, processes, and system functionalities.
• Background understanding of information technologies, particularly enterprise-wide system architecture and solution implementation approaches.
• Self-directed and self-motivated.

• The ability to think critically and envision future state processes.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or other discipline preferred, but not required.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
