IT Director

Civic Media is seeking to hire an experienced IT Director to join our growing network of radio stations across Wisconsin. Candidates must have substantial experience with managing IT infrastructure for small to mid-sized organizations, including networking, workstations, laptops, SaaS services, and associated policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all non-broadcasting technology operations for the organization
• Develop and establish IT policies and systems
• Analyze business requirements to determine technology needs
• Oversee, design, and implement secure network operations for office, studio, and tower sites distributed across the state
• Manage internet connectivity at each location based on business requirements for bandwidth and reliability
• Purchase efficient and cost effective equipment to meet business needs
• Manage, track existing assets and inventory
• Establish policies for employee workstations and laptops to ensure information security based on industry best practices
• Identify need for upgrades, refreshes, or technology changes
• Control budget and report on expenditure

Requirements and skills:

• Proven experience as IT director, system administrator, or similar role
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems
• Sound understanding of networking, VPNs, and management of multi-site networks
• Experience managing Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems
• Experience with Google Workspace and similar platforms
• Solid information security experience, including understanding of firewalls, anti-virus software, and scalable management of equipment issues to non-expert employees.
• Experience with remote management of servers and other computer systems.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Solid Python programming skills (please provide code samples)
• Open source development experience is a plus.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field

Location:

• Madison, WI preferred, but other locations in Wisconsin or hybrid/remote is also an option.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
