Job Description :

Supervises and directs the day-to-day Deposit Operations, Proof and ATM management functions of Progressive Bank, ensuring delivery of quality customer service to both internal and external customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a department, provide exceptional customer service to external and internal customers.
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with all areas of the Bank and external clients, demonstrating excellent customer service and setting an example for other staff members.
  • Offers technical and product support to all division of the Bank.
  • Outlines departmental goals and ensures department is meeting set standards and requirements
  • Maintain department’s workflow including, but not limited to:
  • Exception Item Processing
  • Deposit account maintenance
  • Currency Transaction Report processing
  • Quality Control of deposit account setup and maintenance
  • Proof function and Overdraft program
  • ACH Returns/NACHA rules
  • Debit Card disputes, card maintenance & ATM replenishment
  • Legal Requests
  • Ensures compliance with bank policies, banking regulations, state law.
  • Works with department personnel to maintain “desk procedures” for each position and task
  • Responsible for implementation of Progressive Leadership within the department
  • Responsible for training and career development of department personnel
  • Responsible for training, communicating system/product enhancements, new services and/or products to all areas of the Bank as needed.
  • Ensure bank deposit records are properly maintained, archived, and stored in a secure area of the bank
  • Responsible for annual escheatment
  • Assist and participate in year-end tax reporting process
  • Responsible for responding to audit findings and implementing necessary changes based on findings and recommendations
  • Works closely with the Compliance Officer on implementation of new policy and procedures dictated by regulatory rules and changes.
  • Process levy’s, subpoenas, garnishments, successions, and other legal requests according to bank procedures.
  • Serve as the responsible officer on Overdraft Repayment loans.
  • Serve on the Bank Secrecy/ALM/Fraud Committee, Deposit Compliance Committee, and Information System Change Management Committee

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years financial institution experience in deposit operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to deal with employees and public in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, as well as exercise considerable judgment and diplomacy in all areas of responsibility
  • Quality control and compliance; must have thorough knowledge of deposit laws and regulatory compliance policies to ensure that accurate processes and procedures are in place
  • Ability to coordinate and complete diverse tasks within stringent timeframes; must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate ability and skill to manage results; situation analysis, planning, organizing, budgeting, problem solving/decision making, managing change and goal achievement.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel between Corporate and Operations Center frequently.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
