Reports to: VP Marketing. There will also be frequent interactions with the Creative and Marketing Teams for project management, creative task coordination and workflow. Cross-functionally, there will be interaction with the Merchandising and Design teams.

Overview: The Creative Project Manager has a central and critical role within the creative team – and possesses a positive, can-do, problem-solving spirit that engages creatives and keeps all the wheels moving in the right direction. This role is the key liaison between the Creative and Marketing teams to define and own project scopes, timelines, arrange review meetings / presentations and cross-check against the Marketing Milestones and Process by season/project.

This fast-paced position will work closely with the Creative Director, Integrated Marketing Manager and the Creative Team to plan and oversee the development of work (ecommerce, direct mail, print collateral, email, social, etc.) for B2B and B2C audiences.

All these skills are required to manage the graphic designers, copywriters and other asset developers. Requires the self-directed ability to create project plans, adhere to milestones, delegate tasks and outline clear action items from start to finish. The PM will understand brand marketing guidelines and establish best practices with communication tools, processes and technologies. Experience working with senior stakeholders is a must, as is the ability to develop excellent relationships at all levels within an organization
  • Time Management Skills within a Fast-Paced Environment will be required to set reasonable deadlines and respect them, following up on progress to avoid downstream delays. Frequent daily check-ins, and proactive communication on soft deadlines, will be required as well as escalating issues before bottlenecks occur. Ability to balance strategic focus with tactical implementation / execution
  • Flexible Demeanor with Problem-Solving Skills are required to anticipate and identify root causes (early) of roadblocks, and build strategies for overcoming them and shifting priorities before larger issues develop. The ability to view every project at a bird’s eye view, as well as having a handle on every detail is critical.
  • Organizational and Multi-Tasking Skills with a sense of urgency will ensure everyone is motivated to own their tasks within a fast-paced environment to reach all project goals. Monitoring all moving parts and players requires impeccable ability to organize and follow-up so details do not fall through the cracks.

Responsibilities & Management

  • Manage multiple high-priority projects/campaigns through the creative lifecycle: planning, concepting, execution, delivery, and retro. Define project scope, including resource allocation, prioritization and timelines
  • Responsible for workflow and project management of creative projects, which include design and copy requests for items such as print, digital ads, social and digital content, customer communications and video
  • Liaise closely with Integrated Marketing project management function to provide necessary business input and context. (including copy requests)
  • Create detailed project plans. Manage, organize, and distribute all project documentation, including creative briefs, status reports, deliverables lists and retrospectives. Work directly with designers and copywriters to execute on project briefs on time and on target.
  • Oversee / communicate timelines and project statuses at recurring cadences from initiation through to reporting that ensure campaigns and projects are delivered on time. Identify and troubleshoot issues / roadblocks and capacity constraints. Evolve workflows as the team scales.
  • Facilitate project-related team meetings (brainstorms, kickoffs, status, reviews), and communicate action steps to the broader team
  • Daily traffic management of triaging requests, reconciling requests against the roadmap and then assigning out based on team capacity
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in future projects through analytics, reporting, and retros. Champion the continuous improvement of processes which may include new tools and techniques.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for creative and business partners
  • Represent the Creative Services team to business partners and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Google Suite with experience in project management software, specifically Asana and Ziflow.
  • BA/BS Communication, Marketing, Journalism or equivalent. Certificate in Project Management preferred.
  • 5+ years professional project management experience within an agency setting or in-house creative/marketing department.
  • Budgeting and negotiation skills to plan, manage and track expenses are a plus.
