Due to the recent growth of our company; we are seeking qualified candidates to fill the “Sr. Cost Estimator” position listed below.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
PROPOSAL ENGINEER/ COST ESTIMATOR – Automated Manufacturing Systems
Immediate opening for a Sr. Cost Estimator. Candidate to possess experience in estimating costs & proposal writing related to custom automated machinery, and material handling equipment. Successful candidate should have a strong manufacturing background and engineering based skills; including reading blueprints, generating equipment design concepts, specifying component pricing (mechanical & electrical), and estimating manufacturing labor hours. Additionally, candidate should possess technical writing skills, and ability to utilize graphic content to generate professional quote letters and technical proposals.
Additional Skills in the following areas a plus+
  • Highly Organized & Skilled in Time Management.
  • Knowledgeable in Electro-mechanical components used in the Automation Industry.
  • Ability to work closely with outside vendors to obtain technical information & pricing, required for properly selecting correct components for application being quoted.
  • Ability to work under quote deadlines, and expedited requests from customers.
  • Highly personable, with good customer presence and congeniality.
  • Willing to participate in onsite customer quote line-ups & plant visits.
  • Ability to use CAD system software (ie. AutoCAD/ Solidworks) for reviewing drawings, and generating concept designs & equipment layouts.
  • Possess Technical writing capabilities for generating professional proposals & technical presentations.
  • Desire to perform Industry research to identify new components & technologies to provide the best solutions for the equipment designs and application requirements.
Required education: Bachelor's or Associates Degree
Required experience: Estimating experience in Automated Equipment Systems: 3+ years min.
