You are a seasoned environmental scientist or engineer with experience working on environmental investigation and remediation projects. You are a strategic thinker who thrives on the challenges of complex, interdisciplinary environmental matters. You are experienced in all aspects of field investigation (drafting work plans, coordinating field teams and subcontractors, sample collection), data evaluation, report writing, and regulatory/client communication. You have strong knowledge and application of New York State regulations, especially Part 375 and the Brownfield Cleanup Program. A lifelong learner, you want to keep growing intellectually and professionally. Collaborating with colleagues with diverse expertise is exciting for you, and you are also comfortable working independently. You effectively manage large tasks and projects, oversee and delegate technical tasks, produce high quality deliverables, and exceed internal and external client expectations. You know how to manage a team of colleagues and contractors. You are highly detail-oriented, organized, and timely. Quality management and integrity are among your strongest principles.

About the Job

We are currently seeking a Consultant/Senior Consultant level scientist or engineer in our Investigation and Remediation business area. Preferred disciplines are civil engineering, environmental engineering, geology, and hydrogeology. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, well-organized, experienced individual who can provide technical and strategic leadership on client projects related to contaminated sites. The successful candidate will have rich and varied experience in site investigation, have a high degree of technical competence, be able to lead multidisciplinary teams, and be effective in communicating with clients and regulators. The ideal candidate will take direction from clients and senior leadership and ensure that tasks are executed on time and with high quality by the project team. Ability to attend short-term onsite meetings at nearby client locations is a must.

Responsibilities

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant, your job functions will include, but not be limited to performing/leading:

  • Site and sediment investigations
  • Engineering evaluations
  • Construction management
  • Task/project management
  • Proposal development
  • Communication of technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff, regulators, and stakeholders)
  • Technical report writing
  • Staff development and mentoring
  • Conference presentations and participation in professional organizations.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a B.S. or graduate degree (preferred) in civil or environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or a related field. Engineers and geologists should hold professional licensure and be able to obtain licensure in New York State within 6 months.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of experience in site investigation and environmental remediation
  • Well-rounded experience that includes demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: site investigation (soil, groundwater, sediment), soil remediation, and groundwater remediation systems
  • Experience with the NYS Brownfield Cleanup Program
  • Demonstrated ability in the evaluation of project data to develop conceptual site models
  • Strong track record in high-quality deliverable preparation, including proposals and technical reports
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with clients and senior leadership to ensure project tasks are executed on time and within budget by the project team
  • Experience developing and effectively presenting complex technical content to clients and other stakeholders
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training Certification desirable
  • Strong quantitative, problem solving, and contractor management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to grow intellectually and professionally
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary and diverse teams
Annual Salary Range: $105,000 – $160,000

The estimated annual salary range provided represents the salary range of candidates hired for this role. Actual salaries vary and may be above or below the range listed. Integral takes into consideration a candidate’s education, certification(s), experience, work location, expected quality and quantity of work, external market value, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.

An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with a company-match of up to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability, paid time off, and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
