About the Role:

The COO is responsible for day-to-day technical and programmatic company operations and fulfilling our contractual obligations to our customers. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution and operations & maintenance of projects. The COO is responsible for contributing to project execution strategy, contract risk management, and subcontractor & partner relationships. The COO is responsible for providing frequent updates to the leadership team on project execution timelines, cashflow schedules, execution risk assessments, and staffing requirements for project execution.

This role reports to the CEO. This role has three direct reports: Director of Operations, Director of Projects, and Director of Service. The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000. This role is a hybrid role and requires 2 to 3 days of in-person presence in the Headquarters office in Grass Valley, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Driver of day-to-day company operations as it relates to fulfilling contractual obligations including
• Drive operational efficiencies and ensure projects are performed in line with company strategic goals and mission.
• Support C Suite team with department operations and staffing, including oversight and management of project budgets and staffing needs.
• Leading procurement for projects.
• Manage contractual risk through both negotiation of contract terms, and fulfillment of terms.
• Maintain all necessary legal and compliance knowledge & training. Ensure all project staff meet contract and safety guidelines.
• Align interdepartmental collaboration on project execution and facilitate communication between departments to ensure no gaps in service to customers.
• Guide team in safety and compliance issues.
• Assist in developing team policies and procedures
• Develop and maintain strategic partner relationships.
• Training and supporting new team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated strategic planning experience and expertise. High growth experience preferred.
• MUST HAVE commercial construction experience, and Contractors license, A preferred.
• Experience in business development planning and execution.
• Experience creating and implementing policies and procedures.
• Experience in managing remote/rural site projects.
• Experience executing complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects ranging from $1M-$10M
• Experience in complex project management, execution of construction projects, and management of service teams.
• Experience with contract negotiation, implementation, and compliance. Utility contract experience preferred.
• Experience in budget management.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prevent siloing of team.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-site teams.
• Excellent networking skills.
