Based in our Austin, TX location, you will be welcomed into a diverse community and work as a member of one of the DevOps team to support the teams responsible for the development of DeltaV. DeltaV is the state of the art, flagship distributed process control system used by many of the top companies in chemical, life sciences and energy industries. It consists of a variety of rich desktop and web applications used for engineering and operating a process control system, plus real-time embedded firmware in controllers and field devices directly controlling the process. Successful applicants would be expected to build and maintain existing software builds and developer environments as well as create and support the next generation of cloud-based tools. This role has the flexibility of a work-from-home option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

AS A DEVOPS ENGINEER, YOU WILL :

Collaborate – Foster a creative atmosphere and work with team members, product developers, and department leadership to build and support our continuous delivery pipeline. Participate in agile activities like sprint planning and retrospectives and take part in Hackathons, Tech-talks, and Communities of Practice with like-minded people.

Innovate – Develop and test technologies to increase our market leadership using the latest tools and frameworks to accelerate our business. Research, prototype, and implement new technologies to use in our software delivery process.

Automate – Write automated processes to continue building our automation pipeline and a release-ready product. Write scripts to handle small and large tasks.

Iterate - Help the DevOps team continuously improve its environment and processes.

WHO YOU ARE:

You experiment with a wide range of existing technologies while applying new and emerging options that can enhance organizational outcomes. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are exceptional at spotting and seizing opportunities. You enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• BS Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field AND 5 or more years related experience
• OR MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field AND 4 or more years of related experience
• Experience using Microsoft tools to create, deploy, and maintain Virtual Machines, Pipelines, Builds, and Storage.
• Experience using Microsoft development tools and the Windows OS
• Demonstrate good communication skills
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
  

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Proficiency in C#
• Experience in administering Azure DevOps organizations
• Experience working in a DevOps role in the Software Development Lifecycle in a large-scale environment
• Skilled in Git and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Groovy
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
• Experience with the infrastructure-as-code paradigm and tools
• Experience supporting IT infrastructure (servers, switches, etc.) that host development tools and monitoring software such as Splunk.
• Familiarity with static code analysis tools such as SonarCube, Fortify, or Coverity.
• Experience using container services (Docker/Kubernetes).
