As an Accounting Specialist at MPI Farms, you will support the Business Manager and Office Manager by performing the following duties:

• Process day-to-day transactions: accounts payable and accounts receivable, cash disbursements and cash receipts.
• Record daily banking activities and deposits.
• Coordinate and complete monthly account reconciliations (i.e. bank and credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals).
• Assist with month-end processing and complete basic financial statements.
• Prepare monthly customer statements with finance charges, as necessary.
• Writing checks for vendor payments.
• Creating customer invoices.
• Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
• Answer questions about accounting transactions for internal and external parties.
• Complete all tasks with a strong attention to detail and accuracy, numerical aptitude, an ability to effectively work through and solve discrepancies, and communicate effectively with others.
• Maintain polite and professional communication with customers and coworkers via phone, e-mail, mail and in person.
• Observing the best business practices and etiquette in accordance with the company Vision Statement.
• Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, or an Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field plus 5 years of accounting experience may be considered as a Bachelor's Degree equivalent.
• One to two years of experience providing accounting and financial services is preferred.
• Technical knowledge of QuickBooks and other applicable software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

SUPERVISOR: Office Manager

COMPENSATION:

• Base Yearly Salary: $50,000-$60,000 (based upon experience).
• Discretionary Year End Bonus (Driven by performance and profitability.)
• New Hire Referral Program: $250.00/month per referral

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION:

• Full-time.
• Regular Hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm and adjusted as needed.
• Additional hours as approved by supervisor.
