JTI Electrical and Instrumentation, LLC is a growing company headquartered out of Bakersfield CA that specializes in the industrial sector. We are looking for a detail oriented, hands on, motivated Controller to join our team. This is a newly created position due to tremendous growth. The ideal candidate is looking for long term, permanent employment with a great work ethic, positive attitude, and the passion to learn and grow. This position will support all divisions of the business and provide project analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Contribute to the yearly Budget process and help re-forecast throughout the year

2. Build queries and reports in Accounting Software

3. Help build/maintain new Standard Operating Procedures and Accounting Policies

4. Additional duties and Ad-hoc responsibilities as requested

5. Independent ownership of the full accounting function including daily operations accounting and technical accounting.

6. Oversee the accounting/ finance team and manage AR, AP, payroll, budgeting tracking, project costs, fixed assets, and reporting.

7. Responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, and multi state and federal tax and other compliance reporting.

8. Develops and implements financial policies and control procedures for a robust control environment.

9. Build and grow cross-functional relationships to collaboratively work together to resolve operational accounting, budgeting, and reporting issues.

10. Manage all tax related compliance including 1099's, multi state sales and use tax, etc.

11. Manage the annual audit process and work closely with external audit firm.

12. Participate in mergers and acquisitions with focus on integration efforts.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, CPA preferred

2. 7 to 10 years’ experience/knowledge of various accounting and analysis duties with experience managing a team.

3. Strong leader/ people manager who can operate the accounting function and report directly to the CFO.

4. Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to identify issues, extract data and provide solutions

5. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines and requests

6. Experience working with various groups in a Construction and/or project-based business

7. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and advanced experience in Excel

8. Strong communication skills with the ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team

9. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
