Lightbox is a data and technology company serving the Commercial Real Estate industry. We are seeking an Intern to join our Accounting team in Shelton, CT. This opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on accounting experience while learning about our vision to revolutionize the Commercial Real Estate industry.

What you will do and achieve:

• Assist the Accounting Operations team with the following:
• Researching customer information including invoice/payment history and retrieving customer invoices
• Reviewing payments for appropriate approvals
• Customer/Vendor communications through various channels
• Prepare schedules and provide information to support audits

• Assist the Accounting team with the following:
• Preparing/uploading journal entries
• Preparing account reconciliations
• Preparing account analysis
• Documenting procedures
• Prepare schedules and provide information to support audits

• Perform ad hoc projects and analysis
• Ensure compliance with internal controls

This is a non-exempt position paying $20/hour

Who you are:

Education

• Preferably a student in their sophomore or junior year pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Experience

• Work experience
• Office experience considered a plus

Key Knowledge & Skills

• Strong excel skills
• Experience with word, power point

Core Competencies

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization and third-parties

Other Desirable Attributes

• Availability to work 16+ hours per week during fall and spring semesters and up to 40 hours per week at other times (e.g. Summer and winter breaks)
