Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 5+ years technical or chemical related experience in the following fields: Specialty Industrial Chemical, Surface Finishing, Plating. General commodity chemical knowledge is also beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Sciences, engineering, or related field.
- Drive to support Haviland’s long-term Creative Chemistry expertise and value by offering solutions that build partnerships and relationships with customers.
- Entrepreneurial with high levels of energy and self-motivation.
- Maintaining a safe driving record is required.
- Ability to communicate difficult technical information to different levels of knowledge or responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates.
- Strong business acumen and presentation skills with excellent interpersonal, communication, motivational, and influencing skills and ability to adapt to audience.
- Proficient knowledge of computers/software applications including: Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software solutions. Datacor ERP is a plus.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors and end-users of chemical products and services.
- High degree of personal integrity and clear commitment to complying with company, legal, and governmental regulations and an excellent role model for organization.
- Entrepreneurial with high levels of energy and self-motivation.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Sales Team with technical service and support at customer accounts.
- Be the focal point for reports from Laboratory testing. Review for accuracy and communicate recommendations to customers and follow up as required.
- Understand and communicate the customers’ needs and expectations to the necessary departments that assist in servicing the customer.
- Trouble shoot, offer process improvement advice, and provide routine technical service to customers.
- Maintain knowledge on specific industrial groups within territory.
- Obtain routine samples at customer facilities for testing at Haviland.
- Produce and publish technical reports for customers.
- Produce technical content for publication or presentation at industry events or literature
