JOB DESCRIPTION
Your Role

We are currently seeking a Tax Consultant. This position will report to the Tax Manager and will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of annual information reporting filing (forms 1099 and 1095), financial statement tax provision, tax projections, tax footnote, and tax compliance workbooks.

The ideal candidate must have a tax technical background, be comfortable and confident navigating through innovative and complex matters to support current tax positions, technical skills to operate the tax reporting and calculation tools, have outstanding communication and writing skills, be attentive to details, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working with multiple cross functional teams. The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of leadership.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Assist in the preparation of complex US GAAP income tax provisions (OneSource) and financial statement footnote disclosures
• Calculate estimated tax payments (OneSource Provision)
• Assist with the preparation of complex stand-alone, group or consolidated tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
• Review and reconcile tax basis fixed asset module in Oracle for tax depreciation reporting
• Oversee Information reporting and compliance of data related to forms 1099 and 1095
• Help design and/or improve internal controls and develop appropriate compliance policies and procedures
• Assist with research, and analysis of various state and local tax issues (CheckPoint)
• Research and support responses to inquiries from tax authorities
• Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Requires at least 8 years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of tax accounting is preferred
• Familiarity with Statutory accounting and insurance tax
• CPA designation is preferred

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $94,160.00 to $141,240.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
