Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking an intern to work within the Property Loss Division of our Claims Executive Department. This is a paid internship and the working hours are 37.5 hours per week during the summer months. Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled full time at an accredited college/university.

Job Responsibilities:

The job duties include assisting the Claims Property Loss Division with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Assist in analyzing trends within the homeowner insurance industry.
  • Support the Property Loss Division through daily reporting on various initiatives.
  • Analyze internal and industry performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and expansion.
  • Create training materials and quick reference cards.
  • Assist in determining storm severity and impact during catastrophic events.
  • Create concise written and visual reports to present to senior level staff.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects to identify opportunities to improve the Amica customer experience.
  • May be called upon to handle other job duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within a group setting.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with a variety of software products.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel & familiar with pivot tables.
  • Flexible and willing to learn how to use a variety of computer programs, perhaps less familiar (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive, Xactanalysis, Guidewire, etc.)
