Seeking Floor Manager for J's True Value Hardware.

This is a Working Manager's position with the majority of your time being focused on the daily operations of the retail floor, employee management/training, and direct customer service and relations. There is little to no office duties, sales forecasting, product ordering, paperwork, or reports to submit. Your time will be used guiding and working next to your fellow employees on the retail floor, while endorsing company policies and positive culture to ensure product is stocked, employees are adequately trained, and customer service is top notch.

The Floor Manager works closely with the Store Manager to keep all aspects of the store running smoothly. The Store Manager is responsible for all product orders, product selection, accounts receivable/payable, company policy, and overall company management. The Floor Manager is responsible for product stocking, product displays, customer relations, employee training, employee hiring/firing, employee scheduling, and all other duties directly related to retail floor management. These two positions must work fluidly together to successfully create a well stocked store with a highly trained work force that produces a high level of customer satisfaction.

Your main duties include all operational aspects of the retail floor, training and supervision of employees, product stocking and displays, and all aspects of great customer service and consumer relations. In essence you are to become the face of our company to the public. This position includes very light office duties, however 99% of your time will be focused on working alongside each employee to successfully complete all daily retail floor operational duties.

Must have that inner drive to personally strive to complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals without constant supervison, as well as possess the skills to motivate other employees to do the same.

Must be able to move product, motivate employees, and lead with focus towards the goal of a consumers overall positive shopping experience and company monetary retail goals

High school diploma minimum required

Previous retail or related field supervisory or management experience required (office managers do not meet the requirement)

Great Customer Relations Skills

Skills to successfully hire, train, and manage multiple employees

Skills to successfully manage conflict between employees and positively handle consumer complaints.

Must be able to work most weekends and to cover shifts (both scheduled and last minute) if unable to find qualified employees to do so.

Ability to run a register, handle monies, and count down cash drawers

Product receiving, organization, and retail display setup

Live goods preparation, maintenance, and watering

Product signage and price change management

Follows company policy and rules while actively training the staff to do the same

Supervises employees involved in daily sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash register receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions or performs work of subordinates, as needed

Hardware product knowledge a big plus but not necessary, however ability to manage employees successfully and ability to drive the daily pace of the retail floor a must.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
