Job Description :

Located on the beautiful Central Coast of California, we are a medium sized firm specializing in tax, bookkeeping, and payroll. We are seeking a tax accountant with 5+ years of experience preparing a large volume of individual, corporate, partnership, non-profit and trust income tax returns.

We’re not your typical stuffy accounting office, we pride ourselves in being approachable and having a great team with a lot of personality. We’re great at what we do and we enjoy doing it.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and non-profits
  • Review tax returns prepared by staff/accountants
  • Prepare amended returns, if needed
  • Assist in tax planning and projections
  • Interact with clients in person, virtually, by phone and email
  • Engage tax authorities on behalf of clients, if needed
  • Review client’s financial statements and process year-end adjusting entries in preparation of processing the income tax return
  • Perform tax research on behalf of clients (as needed)
  • Answer staff’s questions and be able to provide constructive feedback
  • Perform new client meetings in-person, virtually, by phone or by email
  • Bookkeeping experience is a plus

Job Type:

  • Flexible work schedules and remote work is available; There will be a requirement to work at the office periodically, especially during tax season

Qualifications:

  • EA or CPA license required
  • 5+ years of tax preparation experience at a public accounting firm
  • UltraTax proficiency is preferred
  • Knowledge of Thomson Reuters CheckPoint a plus
  • Be able to balance and prioritize projects at once to meet deadlines
  • Be able to articulate tax law to clients

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
