BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and talented Software or Computer Engineers to work with a talented team supporting the development, test, integration and verification of modern combat vehicles.
As a team member, your daily tasks may include:

Hands-on systems integration and test of complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems in both software labs and on tactical military hardware and vehicles.

Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, test plans, and test scenarios for all applicable requirements for new software releases in software lab environment and on tactical vehicle

Ensure technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that all technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met
- Perform non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of test and tactical systems
- Perform root cause and corrective action investigation of issues

Prepare test reports summarizing test results including anomalies, systems errors, and configuration changes

Participate in software requirements, design, and code reviews

Perform complex technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs

Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements

Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems and implement solutions of moderate complexity
This position is located at our Combat Mission Systems facility in Sterling Heights, MI. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform work onsite, this role may require 100% full time on-site or may allow at least 50% (hybrid remote) on-site working at the BAE Systems facility based on business need. We work a flexible 9/80, schedule with every other Friday off.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in STEM discipline with minimum two years of experience relative to degree (Preferred: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)

Programming experience in one of the following: C, C#, C++, Java, Ada, Python

Ability to access and move about a military vehicle during integration, troubleshooting and test activities.

Understanding and application of modern software development and systems engineering practices, design principles, techniques, and technologies.

Motivated team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Master of Science degree in STEM discipline (Preferred: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)

Experience with software development environments, version control, and issue tracking tools

Experience with real-time embedded operating systems
-
Experience with multiple protocols: J1939, CAN, Ethernet, Serial, 1553

Experience with hands-on troubleshooting using test equipment, CAN bus analysis tools, Ethernet network analysis tools, data acquisition systems
- Cybersecurity Certification: Security+, CSSLP, CISSP

Previous Military experience is highly valued
