Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. What we do:

The Software Avionics System Engineer works with other members of the avionics software development team to generate high-level software requirements for our eVTOL aircraft to develop all application software running on our aircraft management computer, including logic, displays, guidance, navigation, and controls. The Systems Engineer responsibilities will include analysis, generation of avionics requirements, writing of systems tests, evaluation of test results, and coordination of software safety and certification activities.

What you can do:

• 
  Creation of Systems and Software avionics requirements for both prototype and production vehicles utilizing requirements management tools (i.e., DOORS)
• 
  Generation of high-level avionics software architecture, application detail design, and cockpit displays
• 
  Technical interaction with all other aircraft disciplines for the generation of avionics software requirements to satisfy the needs of the different engineering teams
• 
  Production of documentation to support avionics system certification to required standards
• 
  Assist in building a lab for testing and integration of avionics applications and systems
• 
  Generate and manage the avionics requirements lifecycle
• 
  Additional duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field
• 
  A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in system performance analysis and/or systems requirement generation (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• 
  Test case generation experience
• 
  Preferred experience with avionics systems
• 
  Preferred experience with model-based simulation and code generation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SCADE)
• 
  Preferred experience with DOORS, Rhapsody
• 
  Preferred experience with regulatory authorities (e.g., FAA)
• 
  Preferred experience with an embedded programming language (e.g., C, C++, Rust, Ada)
• 
  Preferred experience with embedded devices
• 
  Preferred experience with Real-Time Operating Systems
• 
  Familiarity with avionic systems
• 
  Strong systems/architectural thinker
• 
  Strong analytical skills
